It’s another feather to the cap of the newly elected National Executive Council of Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo as it embarks on the construction of a first class Guest House for the Association.
It will be recalled that the body recently commissioned a gigantic Alumni Events Centre to commemorate the 59th Founders Day Anniversary of the Institution, which was organized by the Association.
The idea to construct a befitting Guest House for the Association was muted by the National Executive Council to add value to the multimillion Naira Events centre.
According to the President of the Association, Dr Festus Olowogboyega Oyebade, the Guests House will contain a total number of
21 rooms and some features features which include:
7 Double Rooms, 7 Standard Rooms,
7 Single Rooms (All Ensuites)
Reception/Lounge,
A Bar/Restaurant,
A Gym,
2 Offices
1 Store,
Internet cafe and a Security Post.
The construction of the Guest House, according to the chairman of the Building Project Committee, Dr Olusegun Owolewa, will be in stages. He said that the first stage of the construction will commence on Thursday, 27th July, 2023 at the Alumni Centre with the
turning of Sod and foundation laying ceremony to be performed by a revered Alumnus of the Institution, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (Odundun III), the Aragbiji of Iragbiji-land.
Also expected at the ceremony are dignitaries from far and near which include members of the National Executive Council, members of staff of the University and other alumni members from within and outside Nigeria, while the Provost of the Institution, Dr S.A Akintunde will be the Chief Host at the event.
The project, according to the secretary of the Association who also doubles as the Building Project Committee Secretary, Mr. Charles Omotayo, will be completed in the shortest possible time without compromising quality job.
